Carl Larsson Gården
Something you must not miss is the Carl Larsson farm outside Falun in Sundborn. This was the home of the famous artist and his wife Karin. The home is incredibly well preserved and we highly recommend you go on a guided tour. Feel free to make this a full-day excursion so that you have time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in Sundborn. There is also bicycle rental on the farm. Click on the image for more information.
Falu Mine
The obviousness of the obvious is, of course, Falu Gruva. Needs no further description, it must be experienced on the spot.

Below Zero Husky tours
You don't have to go all the way to Sälen or Norrland to experience Hundspann. Book a tour and for the brave there is also the option to drive the dog team yourself.

Sjösidan
The lakeside in Falun is just as popular in summer as in winter. Here you can rent cross-country skates etc. if you want to go out for the day. During the summer, we can warmly recommend renting a sauna raft with your friends. It's magical!
In Villa Herdin there is a café and restaurant, if you forget to bring your picnic.

Bikeride around the lake Varpan
Do you want to experience nice environments near the city? Take a bike ride around Lake Varpan and enjoy a little extra when you pass through Bergsmansgårdarna. Catch a lovely and warm day, pack swimwear and coffee. Enjoy!
The trip is 18 km and if you were to cycle around Varpan without taking a break, it would take about 1 hour.
Staberg - garden and viewpoint
A little bit east of Falun, on the way to Hedemora, you will find Stabergs Bergsmansgård, a well-preserved Bergsmansgård with a fantastic garden in a unique setting. There is a café and restaurant with well-prepared food using ingredients from the garden.
When you are there, take the opportunity to follow the signs to Stabergsklacken. Once at the top, you get a nice view over Runn!
It is 12 km to Staberg from the center of Falu and takes about 40 minutes to cycle.
